NVQs are based on national occupational standards, that describe the level and breadth of performance that is expected of individuals whose work involves Health and Social Care practices. This NVQ is based on the national occupational standards developed by Skills for Health, Skills for Care (TOPSS), To achieve this in either for adult or young people candidates must complete 8 units made up of 4 core units and 4 optional units (including choice of the specialist units/route) Candidates can also undertake additional units, although these are not to complete the qualification.
